March 2010 After leaving the luxury of shooting, fine wines and manchego at La Cuesta I have been busy starting a new job in Madrid with "El Mundo" in television. A completely new experience with no relevance whatsoever to what I previously studied at university. At the moment I am working with the head producer mainly focused on a channel called, "Aprende Ingles" which is expanding across Spain and South America. So far its proving to be an exciting experience and excellent practise for my Spanish. With any luck in a few months you will see me as Spain's next anchor man. I have moved into an excellent new flat in the centre with a Spanish family. The only problem at the moment is that they've just brought two new cats so any advice on how to get rid of them would be much appreciated. With regards to my time at La Cuesta, the season would be described by the Spanish as "Flojo" or more commonly used "Crisis." You could not help to feel sympathetic towards Jesus and his family for this marvel they have built up and more impressively from starting out as game dealers, to this disappointing season they had to face. What was very courageous and some may call it ignorant was how they kept their high standards all the same. They put on impressive performances for all groups through out the season displaying a fine spectacle of birds with delicious food and wine. I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity and I am very grateful to Nick for allowing me this fantastic experience. However, it was unfortunate that my high expectations were slightly taken away due to the limited number of groups we received this year. I would highly recommend it to any persons who have an interest in shooting. Make the most of the people you meet and get involved. Onwards and upwards for the next season.
