PARTRIDGE SHOOTINGPartridge shooting has become the new rock & roll of driven game bird shooting in the U.K.! To my knowledge the first place to try driven partridge shooting off the moorland fringe was on Aikrigg Moor in the Yorkshire Dales about 25 years ago. Since that time partridge shooting in the uplands has come of age where many estates with struggling grouse stocks have turned to the red leg partridges as a more reliable source of income thereby ensuring that keeper and the support staff continue to be employed when grouse numbers are in decline. Partridge shooting has provided a lifeline for many such estates and it is encouraging to see the benefits of continued investment in grouse moors through the introduction of partridges on the edge of the hill. Through our sporting agency we let many days’ partridge shooting in glorious scenic countryside from the 1st September to the end of the season. |
