PHEASANT SHOOTING REPORTPheasant shooting survived the financial meltdown of the last 12 months and estates have emerged leaner and fitter than before. Increased attention was paid to customer’s wishes in a very competitive market and there were more interest from clients from abroad due to the weakness of sterling. Estates which can offer more than just spectacular pheasant shooting had an advantage over the shoots with no decent accommodation nearby or difficult access. Although, on the face of it a risky tactic, one shoot in the Yorkshire Wolds which lets individual guns on days sold out very quickly. Perhaps with less compete teams able to afford to shoot together, selling individual pegs for pheasant shooting is the way forward? Sad, but that’s progress…! ![]() |
