The 2016 Grouse shooting season has now ended, and what a complicated year it has been, with vastly differing populations across the country’s grouse moors. Luckily we have managed to steer most of our clients towards the most prolific moors, with a few bumps along the way, and in a year like this one the importance of good local knowledge is vital to achieve the right result. Apart from some abnormally hot days at the end of August and a flash snow storm in mid November, the weather has not been too dramatic. Some moors have broken records whilst others have had to cancel their programmes completely. The late hatch meant that there was some fantastic shooting later in the season in October and November, but as ever it was difficult to get good strong teams to commit to days at very short notice. If you fall into the ‘strong late team’ category do PLEASE let us know so that we can call you when the time is right.
