Land at Langcliffe & Attermire Scar
The land at Langcliffe & Attermire Scar extends to approximately 126 acres (51 hectares) of limestone grassland with rocky outcrops with access off Stockdale Lane off High Hill Lane, Settle Tops. The land is bounded by stone walls. The land benefits from a spring fed water supply in the southern parcel of land, and the YDNPA are keen to explore options for improving the water supply to the northern parcel. with access to a water trough, however the Tenant(s) should satisfy themselves as to the robustness of the supply.
The YDNPA wish to manage their land at Langcliffe & Attermire Scar in a way that enhances the natural diversity of the site. Through grazing the aim is to achieve a species rich, calcareous grassland sward and the protection of historic features on the site. The YDNPA are seeking a tenant who will be able to apply a degree of flexibility to the grazing regime, with the number of stock on site varied to adapt to the habitat conditions. The YDNPA will work with the tenant to agree an appropriate stocking calendar. The land will be available for native breed livestock.
The land is to be let on a Farm Business Tenancy, to commence on the 5th April 2021 and will terminate on the 4th April 2031. A copy of the Farm Business Tenancy is available for inspection at the letting agent’s office. The rental fee is due in advance prior to occupation of the land being given. The Tenant(s) will be responsible for repair of any wall gaps and any boundary damages that occur during the occupation.
Basic Payment Scheme Entitlements
The Basic Payment Scheme entitlements will be offered to the Tenant at the current market rate, and the Tenant must ensure that the entitlements are claimed annually.
